Network Inventory Explorer
Network Inventory Explorer is a network inventory, and IT asset management tool allowing administrators
to quickly generate a complete hardware and software inventory of all windows based PC’s, Servers, and SNMP
network devices. Windows 98 (with WMI), Me, NT, 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, Server 2008 are just some of the
supported operating systems that Network Inventory Explorer is able to audit.
Agent-less Design, with Zero Deployment
Network Inventory Explorer requires zero deployment as it does not require you to install any agent on the
remote machine meaning you can be auditing your assets across your LAN and WAN in minutes.
Flexible Reporting
The built in query, and report builder allows you to create customer reports, and views easily and quickly.
A complete set of sample queries are included allowing to you find, and analyze the data that is relevant
to you. All reports and views can be printed, or exported to Microsoft Excel (XML), CSV, and HTML file formats.
Hardware Inventory
Network Inventory Explore queries for information on the following components:
- Model, Manufacturer, Interface Type, Partitions, and Size of all Hard Disks.
- Name, Manufacturer, Clock Speed, Cache Size, and number of Processors.
- Socket Type, Type, Speed, and Size of Installed Memory Modules.
- Name, Size, Free Space, Volume Name, and Volume Serial Number of Logical Partitions.
- Name, Manufacturer, MAC Address, IP Address, Subnet Mask, DHCP Server, DNS Server, Default Gateway of Network Adapters.
- Name, Processor, DAC Type, Memory, Refresh Rate, and Mode Description of Installed Video Adapters.
- Name, Model, Manufacturer, Manufactured Date, and Serial Number of connected Monitors, and VDU’s.
- Name, Driver, Server, Share Name, Port, and Location of Installed Printers.

Software Inventory
Network Inventory Explore queries for information on the following software information:
- Name, Vendor, Install Location, Version, and Product Key of Installed Application.
- Application Usage History, Name, Last Used, Install Size, and Frequency of Usage.
- Installed Hot fixes.
- Service Name, Display Name, Image Path, Startup Type, Startup Account, and State of all Installed Services.
- Name, Description, and Path of all Shares.
- Name, Executable Path, and Command Line of all Running Processes.

Asset Categorization
Network Inventory Explorer recognizes and categorizes over 2000 network devices from many well known vendors such as CISCO,
and HP. Each device is categorized as a host, router, switch, photocopier, hub, tape drive, bridge, firewall, print
server, printer, or other network device.
Asset Register
The built in asset register of Network Inventory Explorer provides the ability to enter extra information, such as location,
state, purchase date, warranty expiration date, and other data related to each asset. The state of an asset can be assigned one of the following values:
In Use, Redundant, Given Away, Disposed Off, Broken, Stolen, and Lost.
Choice of Database
Network Inventory Explorer supports both the Microsoft Access, and Microsoft SQL Server databases,
making Network Inventory Explorer scalable across both small and large organizations.

Management Station: Windows XP, 2000, 2003, 2008, or Vista with .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 or greater.
Database: Microsoft Access, or Microsoft SQL Server.
